Dear Parents, Parishioners, and Benefactors,
Lent begins on Wednesday, February 22nd. For the next six weeks
we journey toward the celebration of the Resurrection of the
Lord. As Christians we traditionally pray, fast, and give alms
during the weeks of Lent. We strengthen our faith as we
increase our love for God and others, stretch our hearts to be
more charitable, and make our celebration of Easter more
meaningful.
I realize that family life can be very hectic, but I want to ask
each family to gather together for a few minutes on the eve of
Ash Wednesday to determine one way in which you as a family will
pray, one way in which you will fast, and one way in which you
will give alms throughout Lent. Together we can make this Lent
especially meaningful for our families.
May God bless us all during this Lenten journey.
Mrs. Parker
